“Aw, just one more,” Polly said as I put my hand over the short glass. It was fine for her, she could pack much more alcohol away than me and still not feel the effects, it didn’t matter she was only five foot three and at least three inches shorter than me because the girl could seriously drink.

But, as she tried to pour me another drink, I thought she was on a mission to get me drunk. And yes, the vodka cranberry drinks I had on my birthday were gorgeous, but after four of them, I let Seb… phew… I’m not blaming the drink; I enjoyed it. I smiled because the man was gorgeous and I could kiss his lips forever and I hoped things between us would go a lot further.

I mean, we’d already gone a lot further, and he was a man who knew how to use his tongue. But he still hadn’t said what he wanted, either being a friend with benefits or if it was going to develop into a relationship. But whatever it was, there was definitely a connection between us.

“No, I’m not used to it,” I said, hauling my skinny dark blue jeans over my hips. I rummaged through my wardrobe, deciding on a top, and pulled out a crisp white shirt.

“Are you wearing that?” Polly said behind me, and I turned to see her glaring at my outfit.

“It’s only a game of pool and a couple of drinks.”

“Yeah, but with Blake and Jack. The two hottest guys on campus,” she said with a wink.

“Well, that depends on who’s deciding. I think Seb Colton is pretty hot.”

And here I was, about to go on a date with the gorgeous Jack, but Seb was the only man I wanted. What was it about him I couldn’t get out of my mind? It started ever since we sat at the table on my birthday? His intense gaze as we looked at each other while everyone around us was arguing. It didn’t matter to me because I couldn’t take my eyes off him, and I knew he was thinking about me.

The negative to Seb was him having Carter as his friend, which just made the situation awkward. And I felt awful when I told him I was still going on a date with Jack and Blake, though I was secretly happy it would get back to Carter.

“And so is Carter, but I don’t see you on a date with him. And there’s Kane. You never said what went on between you two because whatever it was, you were both flushed.”

“We were fighting… I mean literally fighting,” I said and sighed. “The guy is infuriating.”

It was as though he tried to get a rise out of me each time he called me princess and although it still angered me; him saying it, it no longer hurt me. I’d seen him stare at me occasionally, and other times we’d bumped into each other after class, I’d usually make an excuse and leave because I didn’t know how to take him after the day he kissed me.
